Building on Excellence
At John Wayne Airport, we’re always working hard to make your airport experience better. In
2016, we
made significant progress on our three-year plan to modernize Riley Terminals A and B and bring
these 26-year-old facilities to the same standard of excellence as Terminal C. In 2016, we
completed
one-third of the work on this important renovation and construction project, which will
ultimately
provide a major seismic retrofit, and a variety of architectural, aesthetic and technology
upgrades.
This work is happening strategically to minimize impacts to our guests.
We’re always working hard to make your airport experience better.
Another Record-Setting Year:
Nearly 10.5 Million Annual Passengers
As a healthy economy continues to encourage air travel, John Wayne Airport served more commercial
passengers in 2016 than any year in its history (nearly 10.5 million)—surpassing last year’s record
for the Airport. We also facilitated the entry of two new carriers—Horizon Air with service to Santa
Rosa/Sonoma and Reno/Tahoe, and Compass Airlines (dba Delta Connection) to Salt Lake City.
